[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 444px; width: 457px; padding-top: 10; padding-bottom: 10;] hey samuel this is for you. lani is wearing this and i didn't count the words >.< enjoy! Nora Hale, or better known as Lani, walked into the back of the diner and to her locker. The girl wrapped her hair into a bit of a messy bun and tied her apron around her waist. The diner was the thing that was keeping the poor girl social. She was already a junior at U.M. and today one of the slowest days the girl had. Being a mathmatition shouldn’t be that bad, right? Well for Lani that is. Lani was a wiz when it came to numbers, she loved them and they loved her. But her class today was catching up on the week before, something she mastered a while back. Then her chemistry class was nothing but lecture. Head into her creative writing class, exam number four. All ending with an advance swim class, swim team members being held back for practice discussion. Lani ended up with no life and a love for working at the diner. You can compare her with those cliché waitresses who are always nice and call their customers “sweetheart” and “doll face.” Lani was always friendly and just wanted to give people a good experience when entering the place.
Lani was on a role. She had single handedly taken care of six tables, two of which held more than a few people. It was packed and usually it was like this around noon. Each girl was on her feet and dodging around trying to get to everyone. About three hours later, the diner cooled down a bit. People were going in and out. Lani collected her latest tip with a smile and grabbed a cloth. She wiped down her four of her six tables. An old man occupied one and a large group of people she assumed went to school with her at the other. The girl took a deep breathe and placed her hands on her hips. She held it in before letting it go and shrugging her shoulders. Her palm laid on her forehead before she pushed back her hair and looked around. There yea go, another table being occupied. Lani fixed her hair and walked over. “Aloha!” she took out her pen and notepad. “I’m Lani, humbly at your service.” She made a little curtsy and laughed a bit. “What can I get yea today?” The girl smiled and kept on her diner attitude.

"i'll have a cheeseburger with everything and extra pickles, but hold off the onions. um, an order of french fries and a iced-cold pepsi." the blonde boy told the girl, licking his dry lips. while looking at the waitress in front of him, he notice she was cute and seems to have that good girl personality which is something he likes in a girl. he normally doesn't go for good girls, but there's something about her that grab his attention. "and i would also like to buy you lunch someday... nora." sammy said, taking a moment to read the waitress's name tag.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 444px; width: 457px; padding-top: 10; padding-bottom: 10;] hey samuel this is for you. lani is wearing this and i didn't count the words >.< enjoy! Lani looked at him as she waited. He was cute that was sure, but her mind wasn’t really head in that way at this point in her life. Yeah she didn’t need to work, but there was a point she was making when she worked. She was proving she could live on her own, and be successful on her own. It was the plan. She wanted to make something out of herself and not be one of those rich kids living off their parents constantly. Not to mention if her parents did die, the money was divided eight ways. She rather be prepared. The guy because to speak and Lani brought her attention to him. She nodded and held her notebook close to her and wrote down his order. “Alrighty!” she grinned at him. Lani was that good girl. It was obvious. She was also naïve but completely cautious. Lani blushed and shook her head looking down a bit. She cleared her throat. “Sorry but my lunch is booked usually. Twenty minute lunch and I’m back here working.” She gave him her explanation. Lani was either eating on her way to the diner or she was eating in the back between shifts while reading. Lani was just usually busy. “I’ll be back with your drink shortly.” The girl turned on her heels and headed to the counter. She spoke to the chef and handed over the order. She then pocked her pen and her pad. She finally noticed he used her name tag name instead of Lani like she introduced herself with. She raised an eyebrow at the glass she picked up and sent it out her mind, it didn’t matter. She shoveled some ice into the glass and held it under the nossel of the drink’s fountain. She pushed the button and waited until the beverage got to an inch before the top. She wiped the glass and grabbed a straw. Lani placed it on the table over a paper coster and laid the straw next to it. “Your food is being cooked.” She left before he could say another word.
Lani grabbed a tray and placed it on the counter under the window between the front of the diner and the kitchen. She grabbed a rag, with the dish trolley and went over to the table that was finally emptied. She picked up the dishes and placed them into the square shallow buckets before grabbed her tip. Lani was then wiping the table clean.

"um, thanks." the blonde boy said quietly, not making eye contract with the girl. taking the wrapper from the straw, crumbling the little paper and throwing it to the side. placing the straw inside the cup and took couple sips from his iced-cold drink, waiting once again. sam took his phone from the pocket of his blue jeans when he felt something vibrating. he notice it was a little text message from his sister, letting him know that she's coming over later. once after he was done reading the message, he returned the text and put the phone back away in his pocket. another small sigh escaped between his lips while looking around the diner, noticing there's not many people here. taking couple more sips from his drink as he felt his throat feeling dry. he then look over at the cute waitress who was cleaning a table, thinking about whether or not he should walk up toward her; maybe try to stir up a little friendly conversation but at the same time he didn't want to bother her while she's working. he didn't want to get her in trouble. so, he just sit there and continue waiting patiently for his food that he order minutes ago to arrive to his table.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 444px; width: 457px; padding-top: 10; padding-bottom: 10;] hey samuel this is for you. lani is wearing this and i didn't count the words >.< enjoy! The girl rolled up her rag and threw it into the bucket. She looked around her eyes especially landing on the blonde. She stared at the back of his head for a moment. It was the bell that got her attention back to work. She waved her had at the cook before gathering the things up. She pushed the trolley back to the back and washed her hands quickly. She was drying her hands as she made it to the window. She grabbed the plate and walked around the corner of the counter. She made her way over to him and placed the dish on the counter. “Another waitress will be tending to you, so if you want anything else, just let her know.” She gave him a warm smile before turning around and heading for the counter. The cooked looked at her. She was now on her own lunch break. “Nachos please.” She smiled at him before heading to the back and getting her math book out. She set herself up in a back table. She opened her book and spread out all of her papers. There was a notebook worth layered in complicated equation after equation. She laid her head on her hand and looked them over finding the place she left off. She grabbed a pencil. She traced her steps and began writing again.
Ten minutes later, Lani looked up and found the chef handing her the plate personally. “Thanks!” a bright smile lit up her face before she moved her papers around and found a spot for the food. She placed her pencil down and picked up a chip. She popped one into her mouth, and continued on to eating the others. This was usually what she did on her lunch breaks at the dinner. She’d choose some random dish and then hide in a corner doing her homework for the next day.

"thank you." sam muttered under his breath, looking back over his shoulder to see the girl sitting down and reading a book while popping chips into her mouth. a small laugh escaped between his lips, shaking his head slightly as he look forward. looking down at his dish, thinking about whether or not he should walk up towards her and interrupt her little lunch break. while thinking about what to do, he pick up the cheeseburger as he took couple bites of the greasy food. putting half of the remaining burger back down onto the dish, grabbed a napkin as he wiped the grease from his fingers and the little crumbles around his mouth. sliding himself out from the seat and taking the wallet from his back pocket, taking the total money for what the food cost and places it on top of the table above the bill. putting the wallet back inside the back pocket as taking the remaining sips from his iced-cold drink. he finally decided to make his way over toward the kind waitress who was serving him earlier and maybe try to stir up a nice conversation. she wouldn't mind him interrupting her little twenty minute lunch break... would she? looks like there's only one way to find out. "you know what i want to know is why you lied about it. i mean, if you didn't want me to buy you lunch.. all you could've said was no. i probably would have understand." samuel said, leaning against the counter as he was standing beside the waitress. "then again, i'm usually the kind of person who wouldn't take no for an answer." the boy teased with a grin, tilting his head to the side while making eye contact with the girl. he doesn't like being lied to. maybe that's because he's been lied to by the people he cared about his whole life. "how about we start over? i'm sam." he said, introducing himself to the girl while taking his hand out for her to shake. all he wants is to get to know her and maybe stir up a nice little conversation; maybe start a fresh new start and forget everything that happened couple minutes ago. that's pretty much all he wants and not gonna stop until that happens.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 444px; width: 457px; padding-top: 10; padding-bottom: 10;] hey samuel this is for you. lani is wearing this and i didn't count the words >.< enjoy! Lani kept writing things down, small notes and then an addition to her equation. It was going smoothly until her concentration was grabbed. The girl looked up at the person. She laughed and shook her head. “I didn’t lie.” She closed her book and move slightly so she could get a better look at him. “I get a half hour lunch and I spend it multitasking eating and homework.” Lani rolled her eyes. “I don’t think that would be a fair lunch date, now would it?” she said while he insisted on eye contact. The girl had to give up avoiding it. She was one of those few who were shy and tried to avoid eye contact at all costs. It was probably created by always working and never having to make eye contact. Lani watched him and raised an eyebrow. So he is persistent and doesn’t take no for an answer. This was no battle she was going to win any time soon. Lani gave him a defeat look followed by a smile. She took his hand and gave it a firm grip. “Hi Sam. My name tag says Nora but most just tend to call me Lani.” She shrugged her shoulders. “Take your pick.” Her whole life she went by Lokelani, it was where she was from. Nora was her first name, but Lokelani was the Hawaiian name. She never really had to mention her name Nora until she got here. Teachers seemed to be the only ones to call her Nora and her boss. But her boss did it for fun. He was quite the rebel. Lani turned back to her math book and closed it. “Come on. Take a seat.” She said with a sigh, but making it clear she was only teasing. “You know there are more interesting things out there than a diner waitress in here.” She looked at him and studied his face. She laughed a bit before reaching over and dusting off his chin. “Looks like you missed some crumbs.” She laughed at him before she began playing with her food.
