NORA LOKELANI HALE
before i start i just want to say that NORA LOKELANI is a UPPER CLASS NATIVE STUDENT working as a WAITRESS and IS A JUNIOR AT UNI. they were born twenty years ago and look just like LILY COLLINS. oh and you can call me KRIS. here's my application,
So… Tell me. What is your name? That’s an easy one, right?
Well yeah that’s easy, unless I get pegged in the head, then not so much… Oh right! My name is Nora Lokelani Hale. But most people just Nora, Lani, or Nala.
Why should people call you those names?
Well when I was little I had extremely curly and frizzy hair. And it was long! Always messy, and I basically looked like a lion. Not a girl lion, but hey Nala was a lion. I guess that’s not a great story, but I was a child when I got that name. As for Lani, it’s just a short version of Lokelani, my middle name, which when I was in Hawaii my family would call me. Nora was my mother’s mother’s name. So out of respect they named me that. But really, I don’t mind being called anything else. I’ve had Nola, Loki, Lola, people just invent stuff and I go with it. But since I’ve grown up, I just introduce myself as Lani, I like it.
Right… Well Lani, what I got from that is Hawaii. Now tell me about that.
That’s all you got! Geeze. Well, all right. So I’m not from here. I don’t know if it’s obvious or not. I was originally born to a very wealthy family back in Honolulu, Hawaii. My father was George Hale. He had a family business with aquatic sports and in the home run, landed us with a ton of cash. My mother on the other hand is from California and from a low class family. She ran off to Malibu where she met my father. Two months later they were wed and a year later, I popped out, followed by seven other kids. We lived in Alewa Heights, sort of a community part of Honolulu, and I went to the private school there, Academy of the Pacific. So far I’m the only one who made it there. I was apparently one of “those” kids the academy needed.
Whoa, okay, back track. You told me about your parents, but seven other siblings?! Is your mother a rabbit by any chance?
Wow, no. We are the cliché Hawaiian family. Lots of “bradas and sistas, runnin’ aroun.” Well that’s what my father says. My mother didn’t have a big family. Her parents divorced when she was little and she didn’t like living with her father, so she left. My father on the other hand. Now that’s a big family. I can’t keep track of them let alone my siblings. So I do have seven. I’m the oldest out of them and I am almost twenty one. Then there is Noelani. She is nineteen and is currently at Brown University. Then I have Kanani, he’s the oldest boy and also nineteen. Noel and Kana are twins. Kaitlin comes next, named after one of the nurses who kept our grandfather living. She’s seventeen and homeschooled, she’s the next big surfer says my dad. Alex is the next boy. His name is actually Alika, but he says its not manly enough, but they are the exact same name, or well in meaning. Alex is sixteen. Keoni is after Alex, at fourteen. He’s a wild one. Another boy is, John, which is funny cause Keoni translates to John. He’s twelve and way polar opposite. All he does is sits around and reads. He’s really quiet and is studious. I think he’ll be the next one going to the Academy. And finally we have Leilani. She is the baby of the family, literally the baby she’s two!
And you went to an Academy?
Well yeah, I got an offer. I did some tests and they were like “hey she has loads of potencial.” So I went and well, college is breeze compared to that, except each of my classes only held like ten kids. It was expensive but I kept my grades all high!
Well what about you. Who are you?
Oh well I’m Lani. I’m basically twenty one and I guess you can call me a sweetheart. I tend to talk a lot. I’m definitely a people’s person, I can talk to anyone. But being the big sister of my family, I don’t take any crap or let people walk all over me. I am very determined and well, I’m a hard worker. I can be proud which is why I’m a waitress instead of making my family pay for my needs. I’m sarcastic but a total goofy ball. I have been called a geek and a nerd. I tend to love video games and comic books. I try to give people chances, but only one extra chance, then you are in trouble. I have a lack of a temper is my problem. I am way to patient, because of my siblings, and well it keeps me from getting things done here. Another downfall is my attention span. I either don’t have one, or I’m stuck and focused on one.
Lani, why are you here?
I got a scholarship in swimming from the University. So I hopped on a plane and came out here. I got a job and am working on my B.S. in mathematics. Plus I wanted to experience the solo life. It has it’s ups and downs, but I’m surviving so far.
A couple more. When were you born? What grade are you in?
Oh in December, on the first. See almost twenty one! And I'm finishing my junior year at the university!
Right, right. Well I guess that is it. I got a lot from you. I know you did this last year for admissions, but we like to watch our top students closely.
Uhuh. I’ma just go now and gets some pizza. Aloha!
