make me wanna jump out an airplane... [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx223/ka7raelizabeth/3346431062_dc458bf3d0-1.jpg); width: 388px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;]Junior year was an awkwardly pivotal time in any young adult's life, especially in this day and age. You weren't a wide-eyed freshman nor a developing sophomore, however you weren't quite a senior that knew exactly what he or she wanted to do for a career after college. Donnie was nearing that crossroad of trying to decide what exactly he could do for himself upon graduation. His major, performance, wasn't necessarily the best major to get a job in, but it was what he loved and what he was good at. The major provided diversity in what he could perform whether if it was music or theater, but those careers and the odds of having a fruitful life with those careers were slim to none. Still, Donnie tried to remain as confident and driven as possible as he felt that he really had no other option to offer to this world.
Earlier in the week in his Creative Writing class, a class devoted to the creative development of personal writing, Donnie's professor came up with a new way to make Creative Writing more... creative. A collaborative effort between two students could prove to be an excellent experimental run to see how different seemingly similar college students think or perhaps how differently. Donnie wasn't a big fan of collaboration or receiving help from other people, mainly because of his pride issue and his background of having to earn everything he's gotten now, but Donnie reluctantly accepted the project simply because he was going to get graded on the assignment with his partner. Selecting a partner certainly wasn't the easiest and most accepting task that Donnie had been through,
Donnie had the honored privelege of being paired with a feisty red head, Raquelle Fisher. He knew of her, but didn't know her personally. The two spoke briefly after class with Donnie only simply saying that they should meet in the park because meeting as his or her apartment would have probably been awkward for them and also meeting at a food place was pretty uninspiring and means for procrastination. Donnie approached the park, walking from his apartment with black Beats By Dre in his ear. He sat on a bench near the playground and took out his notepad, clicked his Bic pen and waited for his 'partner' to arrive. He halfway expected Raquelle to come late, so Donnie decided to start writing something on his own. Only problem is that recently Donnie had been going through a bit of a writer's block, which he discussed with his friend Izzy about. He needed some way out of it and perhaps this could be that moment.
For a few moments, Donnie stared at the blank paper, his pen not moving, and the muffled sound of loud music coming from his head phones. Nothing was popping out and that really bothered Donnie. He leaned back on the bench as he looked over at the little kids playing on the playground and it reminded him of how carefree and happy life could be... at that age anyway. He proceeded to wander off in thought as he awaited Raquelle's arrival.

It was going to be a busy year for the young woman, but at the same time she was excited because she enjoyed the fact that it was her junior year and she liked her studies. The twenty-one year old's favorite course right now was her creative writing class, because she felt that it gave her room to really grow with materials that she could possibly deal with? It honestly, did not have too much to do with her major but at the same time it really would kind of make her more knowledgable in different writing styles. The teacher seemed strict enough, but had character and she liked that! She liked the teaching style thus far and how he was sticking to his syllubi for the most part. This in her mind was going to be her fun subject, because of the ways that the stories and writing would make things come to life.
Personal writing, well she knew she could have tackled this on her own, but she was partnered up with some boy named Donnie West. She wasn't super excited about this because she could write on her own and wasn't one to give the reigns over. Collaberation, well it was a part of college, but personal writing she wasn't sure how this was going to work. She liked getting her own grades, because she worked hard and wasn't too dependent on needing others for her grades. Plus it didnt, always work out for the better. She was trying to keep an open mind but she had her opinion about this...and it wasn't a flattering one?
Raquelle, well she didn't exactly live the closest to the park and wasn't sure of the outside setting and it being extremely hot and working...distractions and what not but she let him make the call and she agreed to it. She rolled up to the park and she got out of the car and then went to the back seat of the car and got her bag. She had all the stuff she figured she would need. She pressed the lock button and then she made her way down and spotted him on the bench. The red-head glacned over at the kids and then down at him. "Hey there, hope you weren't waiting long I don't live nearby.." she said attempting to be nice off the back, because she didn't need to deal with attitude right now. She was kind of hot and she well wasn't in the best of moods because of traffic. Glancing around she looked around for a good place to settle down and get this shit cracking.
"I think the kids are lovely, but they'd pry pose as a distraction..shall we go up a ways and sit on the grass or something?" she asked glancing at the lawn and back at him and raising a brow. Yeah, she wasn't really asking she was suggesting it highly, but she was thinking that his two cents somewhat mattered seeing as this was his project as well. She hoped she had a blanket in her car, because shorts and lawn, well it didn't really sound all too appealing being that it would cause her legs to be an itchy mess. A smile spread on her face as she waited for the young man in the camo to reply. She wondered if that was him trying to play the role of incognito or something, but figured it was just style. It suited him well, in the hot weather, but the hat and the black shirt had to be killing him! It would have her...

make me wanna jump out an airplane... [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx223/ka7raelizabeth/3346431062_dc458bf3d0-1.jpg); width: 388px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;] Thankfully, Donnie managed to spot the red head as she walked up to the bench where he was sitting and he respectfully removed his head phones from around his head. At first glance, he really didn't get to look at Raquelle before in class, but seeing her outside of, Donnie had to admit that she was, well, attractive to say the least. He cleared his throat as she spoke first and brushed off her apologetic tone, "Ah, it's no problem. I actually just got her about five minutes ago. Manage to just listen to one song and saw you walk up." Donnie cursed himself for wearing black, it was hot as hell, but he managed to keep his composure.
When she mentioned the kids, Donnie looked over at the kids playing and subtly shrugged and said, "I think we'll be alright over here. But if you feel the need to move I guess we could do that. No big deal to me." He said this in a nice way and left the option out there to move to the grass if things got a bit distracting. "I guess we could start then, huh?" Donnie said as he took out the rubric that was given to the class on what exactly needed to be done for completion of the assignment. He read through what the assignment was, really repeating it because the professor read through it in class. It consisted of a collaboration journal about similarities and differences between the lives and lifestyles of the two partners, meaning daily routines, history, and interactions between people including the partner. It was kind of like the two partners were being forced to interact with someone they didn't know, which would probably make things more interesting.
Donnie laughed a little at the assignment and said, "Seriously, this sounds like a kindergarten assignment where the teacher is forcing everybody to hold hands and be friends or something?" He shook his head and glanced over at the kids running around again. Letting Raquelle voice her opinion about it, Donnie kind of initiated what he had in mind for the article, "Well, how about this... we could just kind of do what the rubric says, but I kinda don't like anyone all in my personal business so... I'm kinda iffy about that. Nothing against you personally though." Donnie kind of shrugged the idea of comparing histories off. It was kind of awkward telling a random stranger that he was the product of a one night stand between his mom and a random guy. Nothing worth bragging about. He was sure parental history would be brought up. Donnie twiddled his thumbs as he glanced down at the ground, listening to Raquelle's reaction to the assignment and his statement.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #c70000; solid 10px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]she's living in a world and its on fire Raquelle gave a small nod and a thumbs up when he said that he had only been here for five minutes so that was good. Usually, she was on time or the first one here so she was kind of giving him props in her mind when it came to the young man being prompt. Though at the same time the red head was secretly not to fond over the fact he was here first because that meant that she was late and she looked like a slacker. "Alright, well thats cool." she said and shifted her glassed oh so slightly. Again, she nodded when he said that maybe they should get started. Of course, she agreed with that much! She wanted to get this show on the road so she could finish already!
"Well, whatever works then..I feel like the grass would pry be cooler for you but.." she sat down next to him not wanting to make such a big deal. This was his little get together. The setting was interesting yet weird! She wondered how this was about creative writing at all? This seemed like more of a journalistic like assignment. She couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Honestly, I don't understand how this is creative. It seems like pure journalism to me and if I wanted to take journalism I would have..comparing and contrasting live styles seems like a story in interview form, but at the same time again this isn't journalism. I don't think conforming your life and my life makes for a story" she said shaking her head. "I feel this would have been more form fitting if I was doing like a creative spin on a bio for you, but this..this I don't see the point." she said and shrugged. "No offense." she added.
When he said he wasn't into sharing well Raquelle couldn't help but jump on that opportunity. "Afraid of what people may think Donnie boy? I didn't figure you for the shy type." she smirked and shook her head at that. "I think it is an assignment and the whole point is were his little children, but more importantly its a way to hold our hands..be a suck up and a kiss ass and get to know us all the same a little too personally. I don't think its his job and I personally find it to be a waste. I mean its not like you don't seem like you couldn't be an interesting person, but.." she glanced over the paper. "I didn't realize how do i put this nicely.." she tilted her head to the side to think about it. "I can get to know you on my own time if I so chose this seems like a force and tedious..I mean its not like my story connected to yours is anything extremely creative?"

Donnie could partially agree with her when it came to the fact that it appeared to not be creative writing. It was similar to a journalism class, reporting facts and not highlighting creativity, but for some reason, Donnie could see the creative aspect of it, he just had to grasp the concept of it. "None taken, bossy boots," Donnie said sarcastically. "At the end of the day, I guess it doesn't really matter how we feel towards the assignment. The main objective is that this gets done sooo... I say we just do it this way and that way no one's schedule is intervened, capiche?"
When Raquelle mentioned that Donnie would be afraid of what other people would think, he immediately took a defensive mind and said, "No, no it's not that. I'm not shy at all!" He cleared his throat as he felt his cheeks getting hot from the semi-truthful assumption, but Donnie disliked people in his business so he tried to clear things up. "I just... ahh, whatever, man..." Raquelle was a sly vixen. He almost spilled some beans about his situation, but caught himself right in the moment. She was crafty indeed.
Donnie nodded at her when she said that she would prefer to get to know him on her own time. "Yeah I definitely agree with that, but one thing I will say is that we've been in this class for, what, two, three weeks now? I know you, but I haven't met you in a setting like this at all y'know? Perhaps we're not looking deep enough into the purpose of the assignment. Instead of just showing how we're different and similar, maybe we should explain why or something?" He paused for a moment before looking at her closely, trying to get her to understand exactly what he meant. Donnie ended up confusing himself, lost in her eyes saying, "I don't know... that's just me rambling. Haaaa. Just.... tell me about yourself, Red."

She raised a brow when he said bossy boots. "Excuse me, but lets not try and get cute with little nicknames its Raquelle or Rocky." she said letting him know she wasn't interested in his little games at the moment. She hadn't given him permission to call her anything else and that was disrespectful. Honestly, he was right. She could sit here and bash the subject all day, but that didn't make the assignment go away or closer to completion. "Sure thing." she said and gave up a small shrug upon that request.
The girl smirked a little at how he was trying to make that point clear to her. "Very convincing?!" she said and snickered a little. She was not buying it at all. Now he was trippin' he was tripping majorly all over his words and it made her thoroughly amused. The young woman thought that it was very funny, but she didn't laugh out loud she let it kind of roll around in her mind. "Yeah whatever man" she said and just smiled over at him and shook her head slightly.
"Clean point." she said knowing the two of them really hadn't ran into one another before and now here they were. She had lived in Miami all her life. Had he? Surely, those were the kind of questions she was going to need to get down to. "I don't think this assignment is all that deep, but it is deep all the same. Though, you're shy so you'll pry kind of alter so I don't get to know the deeper thing's I'm assuming.." she said rolling with the word deep and taunting the young man. Not that she minded if she did. It would pry put the creative spin on the story that she was thriving for seeing as it was a creative writing course. The gaze though that gaze was intense and she couldn't help but smile. "Sure you didn't just read into me?" she asked reading her brows. Surely, he knew what the hell she was talking about. "Be more specific, what do you want to know?"

make me wanna jump out an airplane... [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx223/ka7raelizabeth/3346431062_dc458bf3d0-1.jpg); width: 388px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;] Raquelle certainly had a feisty demeanor about her. By no means did Donnie try to offend her by calling her 'bossy boots' but she certainly was acting like a boss right now. With the intent on telling the professor that his assignment was pointless, she was definitely bold in Donnie's eyes. Well, at least she made it seem like she was going to tell him that. Donnie simply chuckled off the fact that she was wrinkling her nose in disgust at the idea of the assignment. Donnie, despite not really caring for it, felt like there was no point in complaining about it now. It had to be done, whether Raquelle liked it or not. He lifted his hands up in the air in defense at her comment, "My bad, my bad, girl. Raquelle or Rocky got it. Just promise me you'll leave 'Donnie boy' alone too then, Bossy Boots." Her little attitude was cute to him. She wasn't an ordinary girl.
She was convinced at his point and Donnie could tell that she was probably reading him like a book at this point. He could see that she was laughing in her mind as he stumbled over his words, which wasn't typical Donnie. "It's not deep unless you make it deep, right?" Donnie combated her statement. "And no I'm not shy. I'm a performance major so I have no room to express bashfulness on stage. Otherwise I wouldn't make it." He said this in a sharp manner, but Donnie was very fond of what he went to school for. Calling shy was kind of like an insult to him. However, he did show shy tendencies when it came to her. "To prove your point false, I'm willing to put it all out there then. Testing my gangster and whatnot, man." Donnie chuckled and nudged her slightly with a balled up fist to her shoulder.
She caught him looking and Donnie immediately shook out of it. Was he looking into her? Maybe. "Nah, I was just lost in thought. Don't flatter yourself..." Donnie snorted teasingly before pondering over what to ask her. Why couldn't Raquelle just be a normal person and answer the damn question. Sure it was a general question, but still, she could have elaborated on her own. No. She had to be one of those kinds of people who asked why. Oddly enough, Donnie was guilty of being that kind of person himself. He respected that. She wasn't the type to beat around the bush. What did he want to know. "A'ight... a'ight. Tell me about your love life. From when it started to now. Since you like specific questions." Donnie took out his pen and paper. Izzy was right. Maybe he could find some inspiration just yet.
